A ukrainian bridal meeting is a very large occurrence with countless almost divine practices and rituals. Some of these will be included in your marriage, making it certainly unique and special for both your bride-to-be and your visitors

Before the few leaves for the chapel service, they meet with their relatives for a blessing at house. Their families can bless them for a content matrimony, wish them excellent health, prosperity, and happiness through this practice known as Blahoslovenya, and call it Blahoslovenya.

The bride’s family members receive gifts from the groom’s svakhy ( maid of honor ) and best man, including embroidered towels ( rushnyky ). Rushnyky may be available to even a very inadequate family. Each man is given the gift of the rushnyky by the svakhy and best guy by calling their name before accepting it by the svakhy and best person. The svakhy and best male may hold a challenge occasionally to see who can waltz with the rushnyk on their faces the best.

After the meeting, it is a custom to “rain” hops, grain, and money over the faces of young persons. The peasants left behind this exercise because they thought rainfall represented reproduction. The newlyweds may look at the money because it was their marriage ransom that made it through their sufferings if they ever encounter difficulties. When visiting the chapel, visitors are likewise showers with small coins for good fortune.
